The Rev. Chase S. Hunt, seminary field education coordinator
The Rev. Chase S. Hunt is the coordinator of the seminary field education program. Hunt is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa. and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. After serving in the U.S. Air Force and working in business for several years, he decided to attend Princeton Theological Seminary and then complete further graduate study at New College, Edinburgh University.
Hunt began his ministry in July of 1962 as a staff member at The Brick Presbyterian Church. He served there for nearly seven years under the leadership first of Dr. Paul Austin Wolfe and then of Dr. D. Reginald Thomas. He then moved to Michigan, where he served for 10 years as pastor of The Drayton Avenue Presbyterian Church in Ferndale, Mich., a northern suburb of Detroit. During the last five of those years, Michael Lindvall graduated from Princeton Seminary and began his own ministry at The Drayton Avenue Church as a colleague of Hunt’s.
In 1979, Hunt returned to Princeton Seminary to serve on the administrative staff and establish a planned giving program. He went on to serve the seminary for 25 years, first as the director of planned giving, then as director of development and, most recently, as interim vice president for seminary relations.
Hunt and his wife, Suzanne, met during their student days at the University of Pennsylvania and were married in December 1954, following his release from active military service. They have two adult sons, Robert and David.
