Friday Evening, February 24 - Saturday February 25, 2012

“The Meaning of the Death of Jesus”

All men are invited to a retreat to be held at the Holmes Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center in Holmes, New York, on Friday evening, February 24, and Saturday, February 25, 2012 (8AM-3PM).  The focus of the retreat, scheduled as it is on the first weekend in Lent, will be on the meaning of the death of Christ, a central topic in Christian theology known as “the atonement.”  Such discussion is by no means merely theoretical or abstract, but deeply personal, shaping our faith and the way we live our lives.  Leadership will be provided by our Senior Minister, Michael Lindvall.

The cost for the retreat is $125, and includes three meals together in motel-like accommodations in the Agape Center at Holmes. Holmes Presbyterian Conference Center is located about an hour’s drive north of the City.  We will begin on Friday evening with fellowship and informal getting together from 5:30-7PM, have dinner on Friday evening at 7PM, join together between 8-10PM for preliminary discussions, and conclude mid-afternoon on Saturday.  Transportation will be arranged by car-pool.  [For driving directions, go to the Holmes Website (www.holmescamp.org), and click on “maps and directions” in the upper right hand corner of the opening page.]

Please know how welcome you and all men – both church members and others – are to this weekend of study, reflection, and fellowship.
