Each year, the Women’s Association hosts a Lenten Lecture Series. Our Lenten studies are made up of a short series of weekday morning gatherings in the weeks before Easter. A committee from the Women’s Association, working together with the pastors, decides the theme of the study each year. This series usually includes presentations from the senior pastor and an associate pastor, and offers ample time for discussion and questions.
This year's series takes place on Thursdays, Feb. 25, March 4 and March 11 9:15-10:30 a.m. in The Living Room.
How many times have you heard 1 Corinthians 13? It’s one of the most quoted chapters of the Bible and extremely popular at weddings. While you have probably heard it many times, do you really live it? Many of us feel overstretched and overbooked and have a hard time pausing to fit these important principles into our everyday lives.
The Women’s Association and The Adult Education Committee are presenting a timely Lenten Bible Study on the challenges of balancing spiritual and relationship priorities with the demands of an active, and at times hectic, life. The discussion will center around 1 Corinthians 13, perhaps the most quoted chapter of the Bible and a frequent reference in wedding ceremonies. A lively discussion will probe the literal and interpretive guidelines framed in the “Love is patient, love is kind” passage, with examination of the contradictions these principles pose in our modern lives.
Please join us for this year’s Lenten Lecture Series led by Michael Lindvall and Erin Keys. Coffee and fellowship will begin at 9 a.m. and the discussion will be from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Each week we explore a new topic in the chapter. On Feb. 25 we will discuss how to Read Scripture with Faith. On March 4 the topic will be Praying with Hope. The series will conclude March 11 with discussion on Forgiving with Love.
This class has no prerequisites; please join us for any one class, or for the entire series. If you have questions please contact Virginia Apple or Ashley Reid.
