Mom’s Morning Out

Mom’s Morning Out is a long-standing tradition for Brick Church moms and their children ages 6 months to 2-1/2 years. It meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., year-round except for the month of August. We meet on the third floor in the Carnegie Room. Join us anytime for a morning of giggles, wiggles, rolls and jumps, as mommies and babies and toddlers meet each other and develop lifelong friendships. For moms, especially, this is a great program to share experiences and create new friendships. If interested stop by anytime or contact the Women’s Association office.

Fellowship Events Committee

The Women's Association Fellowship Events Committee is responsible for overseeing the fellowship events that the WA sponsors for the Church congregation. They are listed below. If you are interested in volunteering for one or all of these events please contact the Women's Association office.

a. Fall Fling
The Fall Fling is an annual event that takes place in the garden of the church and welcomes members back to church for the beginning of the new program year. This event, held on a Friday evening in September, depends on the involvement of a large committee. Committee members are asked to help decorate and to bring an hors d’oeuvre, salad, or dessert to the event. The Fall Fling attracts a large attendance of adults from throughout the Brick membership.

b. The Christmas Cheer party
The Christmas Cheer party is an annual gathering on a weekday evening in mid-December. This event has taken place in the hois hosted the senior pastor and his wife at their home. Members of the Women’s Association provide the sweet and savory refreshments.

c. Family Easter Tea party
The Family Easter Tea Party is an afternoon event in the spring which is especially designed to appeal to families with children who are younger than five years old. The atmosphere is always festive and fun, with flowers, bonnets, eggs, and baskets. No infant is too young to attend. The committee organizes the entertainment, decorations and food.

d. Annual Luncheon and Meeting
The Annual Luncheon immediately follows the Women’s Association Annual Board Meeting and Installation of New Officers and Board Members, which takes place at noon on a weekday in mid-May. The Women’s Association invites all women members of Brick to attend the meeting and luncheon. Board Members provide a great variety of dishes for lunch and dessert and all who attend sit together for a festive fellowship luncheon in the Carnegie Room, specially decorated for the occasion.

Lenten Lecture Series

Each year, the Women’s Association hosts a Lenten Lecture Series. Our Lenten studies are made up of a short series of weekday morning gatherings in the weeks before Easter. A committee from the Women’s Association, working together with the pastors, decides the theme of the study each year. This series usually includes presentations from the senior pastor and an associate pastor, and offers ample time for discussion and questions.

This year's series takes place on Thursdays, Feb. 25, March 4 and March 11 9:15-10:30 a.m. in The Living Room.

How many times have you heard 1 Corinthians 13? It’s one of the most quoted chapters of the Bible and extremely popular at weddings. While you have probably heard it many times, do you really live it? Many of us feel overstretched and overbooked and have a hard time pausing to fit these important principles into our everyday lives.

The Women’s Association and The Adult Education Committee are presenting a timely Lenten Bible Study on the challenges of balancing spiritual and relationship priorities with the demands of an active, and at times hectic, life. The discussion will center around 1 Corinthians 13, perhaps the most quoted chapter of the Bible and a frequent reference in wedding ceremonies. A lively discussion will probe the literal and interpretive guidelines framed in the “Love is patient, love is kind” passage, with examination of the contradictions these principles pose in our modern lives.

Please join us for this year’s Lenten Lecture Series led by Michael Lindvall and Erin Keys. Coffee and fellowship will begin at 9 a.m. and the discussion will be from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Each week we explore a new topic in the chapter. On Feb. 25 we will discuss how to Read Scripture with Faith. On March 4 the topic will be Praying with Hope. The series will conclude March 11 with discussion on Forgiving with Love.

This class has no prerequisites; please join us for any one class, or for the entire series. If you have questions please contact Virginia Apple or Ashley Reid.
