A Message from the Rev. Douglas King

Dear Brick Church Members,

For the past nearly sixteen years it has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve beside you as your Senior Associate Minister. It has been an honor to worship and learn with you; to care for the most vulnerable of our city together; to train student ministers together; to share the joys and burdens of our lives together.

I have now received a calling to serve another congregation. This past Sunday, September 13th I was elected to be the next Senior Minister of the Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church in Saint Louis. Ladue Chapel is a congregation of 1500 members that values traditional reformed worship, has strong associate ministers, and a vital, faithful energy that drives its ministries. I look forward to this next chapter in my ministry.

Marta and I have loved our time with you. We have grown close to many of you personally. Your care and support has carried us through the inevitable ups and downs of life. We will always be grateful for all you have shared with us.

At this point I am unsure of my last day at Brick but I will let you know very soon. I will cherish these final days with you all. In these days of social distancing it may be somewhat of a challenge to appropriately express my thankfulness to you all for our time together but I look forward to finding ways to do so.

Grace and Peace, Doug
