A Worship Update from the Rev. Douglas T. King

Dear Friends in Christ,

Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Session of The Brick Presbyterian Church has decided to temporarily limit Sunday worship to solely live streaming from our website. For the following three Sundays, March 15, 22 and 29, there will be no public worship in the sanctuary. We look forward to you joining us via livestream by clicking HERE. The Order of Worship for this Sunday’s service will be included in the Friday email tomorrow evening. Wednesday evening worship will be suspended during this time.

We recognize that the suspension of public, gathered worship is a sacrifice. However, we feel that it is of the utmost importance to do our part as a community of faith to contain and reduce the spread of the coronavirus. The Brick Church has always placed a high priority on serving the most vulnerable in our city, and we believe this action continues to honor that tradition. We look forward to returning to public, gathered worship as soon as possible. We stand strong in the promise that whenever two or more are gathered in Jesus’ name, even electronically, God is indeed present.

As always, we want to be a pastoral presence in your life. Please contact me with any concerns or questions you may have.

We encourage all of you to keep those affected by this situation around the world in your prayers. As in all times, we put our trust in Jesus Christ and are grateful that we have been called together into this community of faith.

Grace and Peace,

The Reverend Douglas T. King
Senior Associate Minister, Acting Head of Staff
