Blessing of the Animals – Oct. 2

Join us for a Service of Blessing of the Animals at The Brick Church on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. This service is offered as part of our witness that God creates and loves all creatures great and small! Their lives bring joy and companionship to our lives and this is a way to both honor and celebrate our pets. Oct. 4 is the Annual Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi and often such services are observed around this date.

Bring your furry, feathered, or scaly family members to the Park Avenue side of the church. We will offer two stations for blessings: one in the Chapel and one near the front steps outside of the sanctuary. We welcome pets on leashes and in carriers/crates and those who live in water. If your pet is not comfortable around other creatures, or if you wish to remember a pet that has died, you can bring a photograph instead. We welcome our neighbors and friends to participate in this joyful and potentially noisy service! We will begin at 5:00 p.m. with liturgy and song before the blessing of the animals begins.
