Adult Education Lecture Series: “Christian Hospitality: Lost and Recovered”

May 31 @ 9:45 am - 10:45 am EDT

May 31, Christine D. Pohl, Christian Hospitality: Lost and Recovered.

Pohl recently  retired from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, KY, where she taught Christian Ethics for 29 years. Her book, Making Room: Recovering Hospitality as a Christian Tradition (Eerdmans, 1999), studied communities that practiced hospitality to strangers and those living on the margins. It served to demonstrate that from earliest days practicing hospitality has been a life-enriching practice by Christians for others. But thus humane tradition was almost lost. Our speaker will explain why and what are the contemporary realities of hospitality.

At this time, our Lecture Series programs are offered virtually or in small online group gatherings using Zoom meetings. To learn more about Zoom, please click here. To join our weekly Adult Education Lecture Series events, please contact Jeff Shayne for meeting information.
