Hildegard of Bingen, Twelfth-Century Renaissance Woman
May 15, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 10:45 am EDT

Hildegard of Bingen, in the Wall Street Journal, was called “the Leonardo da Vinci of the twelfth century.” This Benedictine Abbess, a “Renaissance woman,” excelled in theology, poetry, music, drama, medicine, linguistics, and more. Her visionary biblical theology was illustrated in brilliant color in her original manuscripts. Paul Rorem is the Warfield Professor of Medieval Ecclesiastical History at Princeton Theological Seminary and presents on Hildegard of Bingen in this session.
