Palm Sunday Processional and Project

April 14, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm EDT

Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter, when Christians commemorate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. On Palm Sunday, children participate in two important events:
1. Palm Sunday Processional:
All children are invited to join in the traditional Palm Sunday processional at the 11 a.m. worship service. Parents and children come to the Chapel of The Reformed Faith at 10:45 a.m. to receive palms, practice our music, and then lead the processional down the center aisle of the sanctuary. Infants in arms are welcome.

2. Palm Sunday Project:
We celebrate Palm Sunday with this fellowship tradition for our children in Watson Hall during Sunday Church School. The Palm Sunday Project helps us to remember Jesus’ journey to the cross and the celebration of Easter. After they recess out of worship, children ages 4 through 5th grade are invited to Watson Hall to participate with their Sunday Church School classes to make symbols of Lent, palm crosses, and other Holy Week crafts. Younger children in the 2s and 3s classes will have activities provided in their Sunday Church School classrooms and 6th-7th grades will have Lent activities in their classrooms too.
