Lecture Series: “Israel Journeys”

On Oct. 20, at 9:45 a.m., members Helen Lynch and Kimberly Purvis will provide an eyewitness account of Israel and Palestine. During their travels they visited with ordinary Palestinians, met with groups actively assisting the Palestinian population and spoke with Jewish settlers. On Oct. 27, at 9:45 a.m. Rabbi Charles Savenor of Park Avenue Synagogue will share his historic trip to Israel to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel.

The great hymns of the church will again be highlighted in a special service of worship at The Brick Church on Sunday morning, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. Thanks to the generosity of Don and Lynn Wilson, our wonderful Brick Church Brass Quintet will join with the Chancel Choir, the Anderson organ and the congregation in special arrangements of hymns chosen for this occasion and focusing on hymns from the American tradition. Pioneers Fall Fest

All Pioneers, 5th-7th graders, are invited to the Pioneers Fall Fest from 12:30 to 2 p.m. We will begin our time together with lunch and a service project at 12:30 p.m. in Watson Hall. Following the service project, we will play an hour of games in Watson Hall and maybe head over to Central Park until pick-up at 2 p.m. at the church.
