Please represent Brick Church! The Park Avenue Synagogue invites adult members of Brick Church to join in an interfaith art project led by artist Ellen Alt on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7:15 p.m. and on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at PAS@89th located at 11 East 89th Street. We are planning to create one art piece in a digital format that will be reproduced. The piece will be composed of scanned original images of artwork on the theme of “Welcoming Guests.” The artwork will be created by the participants from The Brick Church, Park Avenue Synagogue, Church of the Heavenly Rest and the Islamic Cultural Center. We are asking each participating religious institution to come up with phrases, symbols and stories (for illustrations) about welcoming guests. You can participate in either the evening or the daytime workshop. The project will bring us together to create a community art piece that will be displayed at the Nov. 19 interfaith concert Lift Every Voice led by acclaimed producers Ray Chew and Vivian Scott Chew and featuring Cantor Azi Schwartz.
