January Lecture Series

Join Rev. Dr. Kimberly Clayton in Adult Education for a three-Sunday exploration of Women and the Reformation. Though overshadowed in history and print by male Reformers such as Martin Luther and John Calvin, scholarship is now giving increased attention to a remarkable array of women who also led and influenced the reformation of the church in many countries. These women did so often facing opposition and ridicule. The first part of this series began with a look at the ways the Reformation of the 16th century both helped and hindered women. The following two Sundays will help us explore specific women and the roles they played and the influence they had on theology, piety, and gender roles in this period:
