Christians believe that God created us for life together and that the Christian life is most faithfully and joyfully lived in the community of faith that is the church. This community sustains, nourishes and challenges us to greater and steadier faithfulness to Jesus Christ. To be a Christian is, for most of us, to be part of a community of Christians. If you wish to explore membership, you are cordially invited to attend one of our series of three New Member Meetings described below. Please know that you are welcome to participate in our worship, fellowship and educational activities prior to joining the church. Church services such as baptism, marriage, funerals or votes of the congregation require church membership. Please contact Linda Thompson to learn more.
How to Become a Member of The Brick Church 2020 – 2021
Four times per year, The Brick Church hosts a series of membership meetings. At these informational meetings, neighbors, visitors and members of The Brick Church can learn about Christian faith and worship, the Presbyterian tradition, and the history and life of The Brick Church. Those who wish to join the church must attend all three meetings in any order prior to being received in Worship. Please sign up by clicking the date you would like to attend.
Meeting II: The Presbyterian Way (Sunday October 11 at 10:00 a.m. or Tuesday, October 13 at 6:00 p.m.)
At this meeting, we will explore our particular way of being Christian and how we relate to other Christian denominations.
Meeting III: The Brick Church at Work and Worship (Saturday, October 17 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
Ministers, staff, and church members lead this meeting. Participants will learn about one another and the programs of our congregation.
Received into Membership (Sunday, October 18)
Those who have attended all three Membership Meetings will meet with church elders before the service. During the service, they will come forward together to answer membership questions.
