Service of Lessons and Carols

Join us in the candlelit elegance of the Brick Church’s sanctuary for our Lessons and Carols service featuring the professional voices of the Brick Church Choir under the direction of Keith S. Tóth. Organists Meg Cutting and Daniel Kirk Foster will accompany the choir on our acclaimed Anderson pipe organ. This service of traditional Advent and Christmas sacred music is a cherished Brick Church tradition and one that will bring beauty, peace and joy to you amidst the busy holiday season.

Admission is free. Due to the meditative nature of the service, parents are requested to avail themselves of the childcare provided during this service. The order of worship is available here.

To request childcare, email Renee Alston and include the names and ages of your children.

For additional information, call 212-289-4400 or email Keith S. Tóth, Minister of Music.

Lecture Series – Sunday, Dec. 15

Outreach in the City: Women’s Prison Association (WPA). Join Valerie Mason and Georgia Lerner, Executive Director of the WPA, at 9:45 a.m. to learn more about the WPA, this country’s oldest service and advocacy organization working exclusively with criminal justice-involved women and their families. As WPA enters the 21st century, it continues to adapt to its clients’ changing needs by identifying three key directions for its work. It began to develop new housing opportunities for its clients, enhanced its ability to address the mental health needs of clients, and founded the Institute on Women & Criminal Justice in 2004 to create a national conversation on women and criminal justice in relation to families and communities. WPA remains steadfast in its commitment to empower individuals, strengthen families and connect criminal justice-involved women to the community. Its success and longevity is due largely to an approach that honors each woman’s experience and offers her meaningful opportunities to see new possibilities for her own life.

Please join us at 9:45 a.m. in the Living Room on the Third Floor of the Parish House. All are welcome; bring friends and enjoy coffee and light breakfast items beginning at 9:30 a.m. Childcare is provided on the Youth Floor beginning at 9 a.m. For more information about Faith Formation at The Brick Church, click here or contact Jeff Shayne.
