Please join us as Alex Gendzier and Rob Sarver present their book, Warrior to Civilian - The Field Manual for the Hero's Journey. Gendzier and Sarver's book shares real stories of transitioning service members, both officers and enlisted, highlighting hardships, regrets, trauma, and success as they left their warfighting days and returned to civilian life.  They document stories from airmen and privates to admirals and generals who have served in the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard in an effort to provide help and support to future transitioning warfighters and their families.

Rob Sarver is a 2004 graduate of the US Naval Academy and a Navy SEAL who completed seven deployments, including three tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and two tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Rob’s military awards and decorations include: The Bronze Star Medal with combat “V” device and oak leaf cluster, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and a Combat Action Ribbon.

Alex Gendzier is member of Brick Church and a partner at Arnold & Porter, where he is a senior advisor to the VALOR Group, which provides pro bono legal services to veterans and their families.
